Works well with estes kits, but make sure it is secured. This engine blew up 2/4 3 times for me but low power engines never have failed me yet.

I bought 4 packs of 3 engines, and every one worked. If they don't ignite, it is the igniters or the power source. I don't use the controller made by estes anymore- I use a battery for jump starting. These rockets lift heavy rockets. Worth every penny.
E Engine CATOS
I have had E12 and E16 blow up 50% of the time. Estes has retooled the manufacturing process for these engines. Check the date code to make sure they were made in October 2020 or later.

Estes finally fixed the manufacturing process for these E-12 engines. They don't explode and blow up the rocket any more. There are lots of big rocket that fly really well on this engine. Super Big Bertha, Der Red Big Max, Saturn, Door Knob, etc. !!
