This catapult is a working re-creation of Leonardo da Vinci's 15th Century catapult. It is easy to make in about an hour and is made of natural untreated wood from sustainable forests.
All pieces are pre-cut and ready to go. Some parts are pegged for extra strength.

It works!
I just finished building this catapult with my 9, 6, and 4 year old kids, and we are harmlessly flinging the clay balls. All the pieces fit together perfectly, and the instructions were easy to follow. It is useful to learn about stored energy.
Catapult competition
Hours of fun. My Florida grandkids put up targets & have competitions. Had to get 2 more for Wyoming grandkids. Very sturdy! After much use (and abuse) they work perfectly. Had to use glue on the catapult arm or it would go flying across room.
Fun and actually works
Is made of real wood. It was fun to assemble. I have had it for about 2 years and it still works.

Strings broke
Strings broke. Bummed out my kid.
Do not buy!
This kit was missing multiple parts, and the instructions aren't very clear. Think IKEA instructions, but with worse illustrations. Of course, the best instructions don't help if the kit doesn't have all the necessary pieces. Not worth your money
Cool kit
All the parts are well made and the instructions are clear. The kit even comes with glue and the instructions tell you where to apply it.

my 8 year old, along with 52 year old dad, had fun putting this together. all parts were there.
Loved it!
Everything went together as directed but attention to detail is a must. My kids are younger than the suggested age and they are loving it.
Vinci's invention rediscovery
Purchased this for our inventions/Leonardo Da Vinci unit study. My 11 year old was able to put it together by herself with a few mistakes she quickly caught. Over all, functions and slings the balls (clay included) and we are all having fun!
