Not for tempering chocolate
Bought this to temper chocolate. Temperature seemed accurate enough for this, but the silicone spatula was too flimsy and kept getting an error message and shutting off. Seems like a great concept, but it needs work.
Not accurate
By the time I decided to compare my two thermometers (angel food was taking much longer than usual), this one read 275-280 degrees. My "old" standby was at 340. Ruined candy.
Worst candy thermometer ever!
I had to buy a new battery, since the one it came with didn't work. My first project with it was to make fudge, and by the time the temperature reached the soft ball stage, it was actually 270 degrees. Ruined my fudge and a complete waste of money.
Don’t buy
Bought this and only some of the numbers appeared on the screen and the ones that did you can’t tell what the actual number is ! Definitely not worth the money
Need to redesign
Thermometer is too short and barely sticks into bottom of spatula. So when candy is still semi melted … tips comes out of the spatula and outside of the side hole. Should only be used once the chocolate or candy is melted… might be too late!

I forgot abt spatular and just stuck it in the liquid. I made taffy and worked great. I just hope it keeps working great, I saw this comments..yikes.
Not accurate reading
I’ve had mine for a while and very disappointed that the digital temperature reading is not accurate. As soon as I turn it on, it jumps to 700. I had to buy another candy thermometer.
