Horrible
If I could give this 0 stars, I would. None of the tips heat up hot enough to cut into foam. I will say, the wire gets hot enough but you need to saw through the foam to get it to cut. I will be taking this back. DO NOT BUY
Hot wire foam cutter
The cutter worked fine, had to keep it clean and work with patients, it cut slow but worked fine.
Better than the other one I had!
Yes. It does require much patience AND gentleness when cutting through styrofoam blocks with the wire. I like that it heats up in 10 seconds… and cools down just as quick when you turn it off. The other tips worked fine for me.
Worked perfectly for my needs
Used this to carve mountains, platforms and stairs for my Christmas village and it works perfectly for my needs. May not be best for large blocks but worked great for 2 inch thick slabs. Do not rush cutting! That’s when you are likelier to get breaks

Great purchase
I use this to cut custom canvas supports for shipping artwork. It’s not speedy. You need patience. If you apply too much pressure, you will snap the wire or break the carving tip. But it will absolutely tackle the task if you take your time.
Works perfectly
I purchased the 3 in 1 Hot Wire tool for cutting the pink insulation styrofoam for a Halloween project. I cut out 24 1" thick letters with it without any difficulty. Then used the cutting wand to cut center holes of certain letters. Again no problems.
Not nearly as good as the others
Far from the best I've used. The replaceable heads make it hard to make any sort of precise cutting. With no option to replace the wire either, seems like it was only made to be used a couple of times.
Works Great
I bought this to create mountain landscape for my Christmas village. I used both the cutting tip and wire tip to cut and shape the mountains from standard styrofoam. The bits heated up quickly and sliced through the foam like butter. Perfect!
