A Ballista was a powerful weapon, originally invented by the Greeks over 2000 years ago, and widely used by the Romans in battles and sieges. Using the stored energy in twisted sinew, the Ballista helped the Roman Empire take on and conquer countries all over Europe!

Based on drawings and written records, Ballista Kit re-creates the way in which torsion powered weapons worked and can fire the small wooden projectiles included over fifteen feet. Build it in about an hour from natural, untreated wood, and begin your imaginative play!

Bought the kit to build with my 10 year old son. Easy to build. Use Gorilla Wood Glue instead of the provided glue. Video here: https://youtu.be/UeeXqn0Vkq8

Functions

Fun kit for my 11 year old. Comes with the wooden missles. Doesn't shoot hard or far, but does a great job as a replica.
