Using sponge brush, apply chalkboard paint to entire tray, excluding the outer portion of handled ends—do not paint insides of handles themselves.
Using sponge brush, paint unpainted ends with gesso—do not paint insides of handles. Let dry.
Use fine paintbrush to apply gold paint to inside of handles. Let dry.
Tape off stripes as desired—we spaced our stripes a single tape width apart.
Use wide paintbrush to apply gold paint as shown. Remove tape before paint is completely dry.
When paint is completely dry, use wide paintbrush to apply clear glaze to striped ends. Let dry.
