Macrame Pillow Embellishment
Create a beginner-friendly macramé pillow embellishment with just two kinds of knots—the basic lark’s head and the double half hitch. Step-by-step photos below!
Cut one 100" length of cord (this will be the holding cord) and ten 70" lengths of cord. Working on flat surface, arrange holding cord as shown. Tip: Wrap cord end with tape before cutting to prevent fraying.
With one piece of 70" cord, make a lark’s head knot around holding cord as shown.
Repeat step 2 with four more 70" lengths of cord.
Pull tail of holding cord to tighten.
Make a double half hitch knot with holding cord and 70" cord to its right. Moving in a circle, continue to make one double half hitch knot with each length of cord. Tip: Use remaining 70" lengths of cord to fill in any empty spaces.
Continue making double half hitch knots until piece reaches desired circumference.
Cut cord ends to 1" and brush out to create fringe.
