
Retro Rainbow Canvas Wall Art

Project Instructions

Step 1
For this project, you’ll need: canvas, wood glue, paint and paintbrushes, scissors, yarn, pompom trim, clamps, ring hangers, two basswood sheets, wood stain, ruler and a drill.

Step 2
Cut canvas (preshrunk) to desired size. Fold in 1” along each side and hot glue to secure. Iron (if necessary) to remove wrinkles. Draw design and paint as desired. Let dry completely.

Step 3
Hot glue yarn (or other desired embellishments) in place.

Step 4
Cut pompoms from trim.

Step 5
Hot glue pompoms to canvas.

Step 6
Hot glue trim to bottom edge.

Step 7
Stain basswood sheets and let dry completely. Glue top of canvas to one basswood sheet and apply more glue as shown.

Step 8
Place second basswood sheet as shown and secure with clamps. Let dry overnight.

Step 9
Drill two holes for hanging (one on each side) and screw in ring hangers.
