Project Instructions
-
Step 1
For these ordinary-turned-extraordinary decor pieces, you’ll need: paper lanterns, paint and paintbrush, tissue paper, paper punch, scissors, glue stick and 1½ mm cotton rope.
-
Step 2
Paint lantern and let dry. Tip: Draw pencil outline first and then fill it in with paint to mitigate mess-ups.
-
Step 3
Cut out floral tissue paper using paper punch. Then glue cutouts onto lantern as desired.
-
Step 4
Cut pink and blue tissue papers into 4 x 4” squares and fringe ends.
-
Step 5
Stack and glue fringed tissue paper squares together, alternating between pink and blue. Then fold in half and glue.
-
Step 6
Wrap and glue fringed tissue paper around end of cotton rope to create tassel. Tip: For a double-layered tassel, add more fringe higher up on same rope strand.
-
Step 7
Tie tassel to bottom of lantern.
