I thought they were plastic, but there real wax that is scented. I have both sizes. These candles have 3 options, On, Off, 4 hour. The on is left, off is middle, 4h on right. If left on 4 hour, they will automatically turn on the next day at thesame time.
Look real
These are cute and look real, however, the outside rubs off on your hands and on your clothing if not careful. I bought them to decorate tables for a family gathering and put fall leaves (from Hobby Lobby, of course!) around them.
