Potters clay

This clay is great! It's no different than the clay I would buy from a professional ceramic store. I throw with it on a potters wheel and fire it to cone 6. Shipping is also great. I only wish it wasnt extremely pricey for 25 lbs.

NOT STUDIO-CALIBER CLAY

clay dries extremely quickly and is so brittle that everything i made broke when i picked it up. the clay i have used to throw pottery and hand build for the past 20 years in art school in boston and in pottery studios handles and dries much differently.

Dries too fast and cracks.

I wouldn't recommend this product for a professionals. I only recommend it if you are a beginner and want to get a feeling for pottery clay….but be aware, this is not good quality clay.

Amco Clay

I thought it was great, I used it for hand building and also on the wheel, it is very workable almost can’t do anything wrong. It fires to almost white. I’ll be a steady customer unless they change the price.

So far, so good

Used this yesterday for the first time and was impressed with the quality. Not as much grog as Raku but still held its shape well for slab work, hope to try it on the wheel today or have one of the other college students give it a try.

What temperature should this clay be fired at?

Moist clay

I like this clay,as long as you keep it covered. I get a good waxing texture after a short time on the shelf. Works good for sculptures

Terrible for throwing

Tried to use this clay to throw on the wheel…. it was very dry when I tried to get it out of the box and almost unworkable. Currently been fighting to get it more moist, but I think I'm just going to go to the local pottery store instead.
